Monday's class

Today in class we handed back old assignments, students were given 15 minutes to study for the chapter 6 test tomorrow and we began working on B-Thrild for chapter 7.

Thursday's Class

Students worked on the Modernization chart all class today. They have until Monday after the break to hand it in.

Interim Reports will be handed out on Monday March 31 and Report Cards will be sent out April 18.

Tuesday's Class

Today we took notes off the PowerPoint on Japan's Economics and Military Systems and Students also have questions to complete that they copied off the board; They are due tomorrow. The questions were:

Japan- Questions on Page 212-215

1. How was religion used to unify the people of Japan?
2. What were the new ideas of liberty and individualism?
3. Explain the sense of nationalism that emerged in Japan during the Meiji period.
4. Why were the peasants protesting against the government?
5. What was Japonisme?

Monday's Class

In class today students assembled their poster assignments from last week. Their Changing Social Systems Chart is due tomorrow at the beginning of class. See last Wednesday's post for a link to the assignment.

Thusday's Class

Today we spent the entire class working on the poster project. Students need to have each section of their poster completed by the beginning of Monday's class.

Tomorrow is Diversity Day at our school so students will be attending various sessions throughout the morning followed by a assembly in the afternoon with some very special presentations by students and members of the community.

Today B-Thrild was to be handed in. We worked on an Isolated Island activity which was due in class and played vocabulary bingo until the end of class. Please study your vocabulary words so you'll be better and faster when we play again.

Tuesday's class

B-Thrild was assigned today for Chapter 6. Students were informed that they would not be given any more B-Thrild booklets for the remainder of the year and that they will write out the information on lined paper based on today's handout.

Monday's class

Interim Reports that went home on Friday were to be handed in today and signed by a parent or guardian.

We watched a Dateline NBC newsclip today on lock down procedures as we should be have a practice lock down in April. Students wrote in their response journals about what they watched and we discussed as a class.
